| Stage | What current sources say | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Discover Japan progress | Competitor research points to Barn Find rumors unlocking through the Discover Japan journal/stamp track rather than all appearing at once. | Track rumor visibility separately from the final car location. |
| Activities that move progress | PC Gamer notes progression activities such as mascots, food delivery jobs, races, stories, and other yellow-badge activities. | Prioritize opening those activity types before assuming a missing barn is bugged. |
| Claiming and repair | Barn Find cars usually need restoration time after discovery; launch guides also warn some barns may not be claimable before the related progress gate. | Use three checklist states: rumor unlocked, barn found, car restored. |
Do not open a full map immediately if you want the discovery loop intact. Progress the campaign, wait for Barn Find rumors to appear, then search the highlighted area using roads, landmarks, and terrain edges.
Mark each find manually as you restore it. Some launch guides tie the full set to progression, so a missing barn does not always mean you missed a location.
If you only care about completion, use the 15-car table above after you accept spoilers. Keep separate states for rumor unlocked, barn found, and car restored.
The table now uses multiple launch guide sources for car, region, and Discover Japan stage. Exact map crops still belong in a separate screenshot layer so players can choose whether to reveal them.
The map references are now wired into the page so completion players can open large previews. These are temporary reference images; once cleaned versions are ready, replace the files with the same names.
